Light

I sit in the comfort of predawn, the only light emanating from the Christmas tree. Well, not the only light. There is the lingering light from the radiance of the young girl’s face as she reverently placed baby Jesus in our Christmas crèche at church last night. And the remaining glow of worship filled with candlelight and song and joy. And then there is the Light.

The Light from Light encompasses me, and in an actual miracle of the Glorious Majesty, the Light radiates from within me as well. This is the Light that the darkness cannot seize or grasp or even comprehend. In the brilliance of the one true Light, mercy and truth and righteousness and peace coalesce.

The day dawns, the light increases, the Savior is here.

Mercy and truth have met together;
righteousness and peace have kissed each other
Psalm 85:10
