Monday in Holy Week

For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Psalm 51:3

once again, I stumble
familiar faults, familiar wrongdoings, familiar confessions

Predictable, the snares of the enemy
Needful, my assent to the work of forgiveness

all this I lay before me on the path that now unfolds
that must be traveled
that leads to the crux of it all
